At Winchester Coffee School, our Taster Roasting Session is designed for anyone with an interest roasting coffee. To learn about the process coffee goes through from the seed to the cup. This course is also a good taster session and insight for those looking to do our Roasting Masterclass.
Roasting coffee is a precise yet rewarding process. We will explain the fundamentals of roasting coffee, whilst helping you to understand the process’s coffee goes through from farming, production through to the roasting process and end product.
On this two hour course you will learn the following key factors:
- Coffee Production and Growth
- Looking at the Green Bean and flavours from different regions
- Introduction to the Roasting Process
- Perform a sample roast.
- Packaging and storing your coffee
After the course we will package the coffee up for you to take home and enjoy. If you do this course and then decide to take your skills further either onto our Barista Courses or the Roasting Masterclass we offer a 10% discount to students who book their next course with us within 14 days of completing this taster roasting session.

You do not need to bring anything with you! We supply all that you will need for your chosen training course.
We ask that you allow plenty of time for your journey to us and arrive 10mins before the course is due to start.
Please note we do not accept students who are over 20 mins late and this is also non-refundable as this disrupts teaching & students time who have arrived on time. Look at our contacts page for directions.
You are entitled to cancel your appointment and receive a full refund within 14 days of booking. Cancellations after this time will incur a 20% admin fee.
No-Show Appointments are not refundable or Re-Bookable. If you are unable to make your appointment please contact us on 01962 883655 and we would be happy to reschedule your appointment for another day.
Vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable. We provide 12 months validity on all school vouchers, they will not be extended beyond this.
